Coins for Change 2009 has officially begun! And once again, Rockhopper has arrived on the island to kick the event off. His ship, the Migrator, pulled in this weekend and is docked at the Beach, right behind the lighthouse.

It’s really crowded inside the ship as everyone is waiting around trying to meet Rockhopper. He moves around a lot from server to server. There are a lot of Rockhopper tracker sites out there to help you find him but usually the room is already full by the time you get to the right server. I think it’s easier just to pick a popular server and park yourself somewhere. He goes lots of places but inside the ship seems to be the most popular spot to try and meet him.

Rockhopper’s Rare Items catalog this time is very good. Members can buy a silver bell for 75 coins, a Coins for Change banner or 500 coins, and a Tricorn Hat for 350 coins. The hat is sweet!

There’s also a really special item called the Coins for Change donation station. This costs 75 items and it’s a furniture item that CP members can put in their igloos. Friends can donate into this bucket so you can have things like Coins for Change parties and stuff.

Club Penguin just released Card Jitsu Fire a day early. You can play the game right now if you are a member penguin and you already are a ninja. If you are, then go to the Fire Dojo right now to play.

When you first play you’ll get an expansion set to your online card deck. You still have all the extra power cards that you’ve earned from using the decks you buy in stores.

The game is really different than normal card-jitsu. Up to four people play at once and everyone takes turns. You click on a wheel of stones in the middle of the playing area and that gives a number. You can then move that number of spaces in either direction and the resulting spot determines how the round is played. Some rounds are just of a kind of card, like fire, water, and snow. In that case, you want to play your highest card of that type. There are other special spots where you can choose which type of card to play or even take on one player in a round of “regular” card-jitsu. It’s kind of confusing at first but pretty soon you will get the hang of it.

There are no color belts in Card-Jitsu. Instead, you play for pieces of the Fire Suit that Sensei is wearing. The first piece of the fire suit that you can earn is the flame sandals. Those are pretty easy to get and you only need to win a few games to get them. The rest of the pieces are harder to earn and require a lot more wins.

The coffee shop is where you’ll find the new pin. It’s a Hot Chocolate pin and Club Penguin was pretty late this week in updating the site. There is also a new igloo furniture catalog with some good cheats in it. More on that later!

Have you noticed that the main page on Club Penguin is updated? The island now shows the volcano in the background and the penguins are all wearing their ninja masks and black belts. I guess everyone’s getting ready for Card-Jitsu Fire, which is coming soon. It starts in four days, on November 24!

No new pin yet today. CP is really late with the normal Friday updates. There will also be a new igloo furniture and igloo upgrades catalog.

The newest pin just arrived in the game. It’s the Sled pin and you can get it over at the Ski Hill. Just look over underneath the ski lift. It’s right there.

I wonder why they chose a Sled pin this time? Usually the pins have something to do with an upcoming event. Maybe it relates to the new game that’s coming out soon with the amulets and volcano. It was mentioned in the newest issue of the Club Penguin Times newspaper.

Club Penguin sneaked in a second free members item yesterday. Now when you go inside the Haunted House there are TWO free items in boxes. The pumpkin head is still there at the top of the stairs but now there’s a second box on the right hand side. Inside that box is a Silly Scarecrow Suit. Here is what the two items look like together. Kind of scary!!

The Halloween Party on Club Penguin is rocking. I think it’s my favorite party so far. The best part, especially for non-members, is the annual Halloween Hunt. There are eight pieces of candy to find and there are clues for each one. It’s kind of fun to do the hunt on your own but if you get stuck, SecretPenguin has a great Club Penguin Halloween Hunt Guide with a video and plenty of screenshots.

The prize this year is a Jack O’ Lantern background for your player card. Another lame-o background but at least there’s a good free item at this year’s party: the pumpkin antennae at the Plaza. go there and click on the big box to pick them up. Members can also get some cool free stuff in the Haunted House and inside the Secret Lab.

It looks like the storm is getting closer on Club Penguin. You can see it really well from the iceberg and the view from the top of the ski hill is good too. There’s definitely going to be a big storm in time for Halloween. Even the Club Penguin Newspaper has a lot to say about it.

Waiting for the new pin to come out tonight on Club Penguin so I was reading my buddy Beztar’s blog and he said the new mini-quest for Poptropica just came out today. Have you seen it? Really, really fun. It’s shorter than some of the other Poptropica quests. I thought Astro-Knights was way too long and boring. But this one is fun and it’s all about Halloween.

Wow, Club Penguin threw a total surprise today (Monday) by releasing a major new event called Sensei’s Scavenger Hunt. The Fall Fair and Rockhopper’s visit just ended and they immediately released a new event.

There were clues leading up to it with all the fire stuff like the cove campfire and the black puffles appearing around the island and then catching fire whenever someone in a ninja suit came near.

But now there’s a whole big event. There are eight items hidden around Club Penguin and you need to find them all to complete the scavenger hunt. When you find all eight you get a special fire pin. The eight items are pretty easy to find, but if you’re lost, try SecretPenguin’s guide. Here’s the rooms where you will find them.
